A Vern Hike is an Island Lake tradition!
What is a Vern Hike you ask? Years ago, we had a van driver named Vern who was tasked with taking a bus full of students on a hike. Now Vern was no fan of hiking, so he cut a deal with the kids: Instead of a hike, he would take them for ice cream and in exchange, they wouldn’t tell anyone that Vern disobeyed his orders! Everyone had a wonderful time, and it has been agreed that going for ice cream would be called a ‘Vern Hike’ from there on out.
This shirt is in honor of Vern!
